A community member is using the Google Maps Scraper from Compass, but it does not seem to provide all the results they expect. They are trying to get a list of all locations in Google Maps with the category "Kindergarten" in Oslo, Norway, but they only get 367 results, even though they know there are around 650-700 kindergartens in Oslo. They tested this by finding a kindergarten in Oslo that is not among the 367 results, and the category for that kindergarten is also "Kindergarten". The community member is unsure if they are doing something wrong or if they cannot trust that the scraper finds all relevant places matching their search.
In the comments, other community members suggest that the development team will reply soon on the "actors issue tab", and that the community member should post their public actor-related questions directly to the "Issues" tab of the public actor, as that is the best way to communicate with the developers who know the scraper best. However, one community member notes that the response time in the issues tab is somewhat slow, and that a previous "solution" they received there did not work. They still find it interesting to get experiences from other users when experiencing issues, regardless of the answers from the developers.
There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.
Hi, I'm using the Google Maps Scraper from Compass, but it doesn't seem to give me all results. Don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. I'm trying to get a list of all locations in google maps with the category "Kindergarten" in Oslo, Norway for example. After a run, I get 367 results even though I know there are about 650-700 kindergartens in Oslo. To test, I find the google maps URL of a kindergarten in Oslo which is not amongst the 367 results, to see what category it has. The category is kindergarten, and should thus be in the result. Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong? Or cant I trust that the scraper finds all relevant places matching my search?
I guess, You should get response from the dev somewhere during this week. You will get notification about it. For future: just post Your Public actors related questions to "Issues" tab of the Public Actor. That's the best way to communicate, as You get info directly from developers, who knows scraper the best. Don't need to repost it to Descord. Thanks.
Well, I think the response time in the issues tab is somewhat slow, and for the first question I posted there I got a "solution" that didn't work. Getting experiences from other users is always interesting when experiencing issues, regardless of answers from the developers who develop the scraper.
